If we're talking about stereotypes in movies, there are a lot of examples. One of them would be "Legally Blonde", a movie about a blonde girl that is treated as stupid, just because she's rich, superficial and blonde. So in her case, she has to prove everybody that she's not what everybody thinks she is, and that she can be more than what's expected from her....
So, of course in the end she proves that she is smart and that she can do everything she wants on her life, so she finally breaks the stereotypes around her. This is still a great movie about how stereotyped can the society be, in terms of physical aspect o lifestyle.
This is a great movie, despite the fact that at the beginning Elle is shown as a shallow and brainless woman. I love the transformation she has as the movie goes by.
ReplyDeletein my opinion most of the time stereotypes appear when people dont know how to overcome problems in life and probably they had been discriminated by some reason.

ReplyDeleteThe Mass Media always show this kind of steretypes, the stupid blonde (in this case), the chinese person who is intelligent, the afroamerican person who always is killed in horror movies, and so on and so forth...
But we are who approve those of stereotypes as truth, we need to be careful with that, because then we usually "transfer" those stereotypes in the reality, and we have to try to not say "all the people are".
Everyone is different.
