This song was writen by Katy Perry, Mikkel S. Eriksen,Tor Erik Hermansen, Sandy Wilhelm, Ester Dean, and produced by Stargate y Sandy Vee. It was the third single from the “Teenage Dream” album and was released in October 26th 2010.
What creative techniques are used to attract my attention?
First of all, the lyrics of the song. It trully represent how I have felt sometimes, and probably how most people have felt at one point of their lifes. And it also has a beautiful video that shows lots of different people in different hard situations of their lifes that probably a lot of people can feel identified. It’s like a modern anthem for everyone.
How might different people might understand this message differently?
I think the big message in the video and the song, is that we must love ourselves no matter how we are. We’re all valuable people.
The other message is that we have to enjoy life, be ourselves and don’t let other bring us down.
The other messade is that the sparkle, that firework is always inside of us and it depends on us to ignite it.
What values, lifestyles and points of view are represented in, or ommited from this message?
This song invites us to be ourselves, to ignite the light inside of us and to be happy about us. The video also shows a lot of different people in different hard situations and just shows that the solution is inside of us.
Why this message is being sent?
We’re living in a world full of discrimination, violence and hate. That must be changed, we all need to learn to accept ourselves and to accept each other, no matter, what religion, social condition, sexuality, lifestyle we have. We also have to be strong and get over difficult situations and learn about them.
If you are going to copy and paste info, make sure it is still readable. This is a song with a very powerful message conveyed very beautifully, but you need to be more specific when you talk about "different" people. It's the core of the message. Point number 3 needs re-thinking; enjoying our lives can be a subproduct of the primary message; the sparkle is a metaphor or image (How is it exploited in the video? Why mixing images of the singer leading a parade with stories?)

First of all, this is not a copy and paste work, it's my personal opinion about the video and the song. The point in this task it to give a personal opinion about what the song and the video can be interepretated by me, and only ME, so it's what I think about it. I really don't care if I get the wrong message about it, it's MY PERSONAL INTERPRETATION and if you do not agree, that's your problem.
