Do you think that the personality of Elizabeth I influenced her decision making and the posterior victory of England over Spain, or did she actonly under pressure?

1.- Who created this message?
This message was created by Muse, an English band from Devon. The members
are
Matthew Bellamy, Christopher Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard.
2.- What creative
techniques are used to attract my attention?
First of all , the effects are outstanding.
They don’t let you get distracted.
The video has
plenty of light effects in order to represent the galaxy. On the other hand, the
rhythm is changeable. Sometimes is quick and then peaceful.
Finally, I love
the lyrics which show you what love means.
3.-How may
different people understand this message differently.
Well,
People who are in love can understand it as a motivational message to keep being in love each other. Others can realize the real meaning of loving or
being in a relationship and the message will encourage them to find somebody to
love. And for those who aren’t sensitive the song will not represent anything
for them.
4.- What values,
lifestyles and points of view are represented in, or omitted from, this
message?
Love is
represented in this song as an important value for our life, the band wants to
let us know the importance of love.
We can realize
an important point of view about life. The song wants us to make love part of our life that we have to love and being loved for someone else.
5.- Why is this
message being sent?
In my opinion
the band wants to show us the importance of loving someone, besides that love
is everlasting.
Just my imagination
1. Who created this message?
Just my imagination is an acoustic pop song by Irish band The Cranberries. It is the third single fromd the bands fourth album. A music video, directed by Phil Harder and the writer is Dolores Riordan and Noel Hogan.
2. What creative techniques are used to attact my attention?
The title and video are used to show what is an IMAGINATION. The pictures that are used are very funny. It seems to be for children and you can remember what you were in the past when you was a child and when you had a lot of imaginations.
3. How might different people understand this message differently?
In my opinion, I think that this message could have different connotation because the lyrics is not so literal. You can think about love, or something related to you childhood or what do you think about the Imagination, etc.
4.What values, lifestyle and points of view are represented in, or ommited from, this message?
I think that this song wants to say that all of us have Imaginations, but many times we just think that is not so important and we continue our life without those imaginations that were important when we was a child. So the message is that we have to believe in our imaginations and feel free to do it.
5. Why is this message being sent?
This message is sent to show us how important is the imagination, and it not JUST AN IMAGINATION as we think. We grow up and we forget about the imaginations, we love without imaginations, we forget about what is the freedom that we can imagine, etc. In my opinion, it is a good song to listen and see the lyrics of the song.

"Call it What You Want" by Foster The People
1.- Who created
this message?
"Call it what you want" was written by Paul Epworth and Mark
Foster, both members of Foster the
People.
2.- What
creative techniques are used to attract my attention?
Well, first of all, the rhythm is
engaging you through the whole song, is fun and entertaining to hear. Then the
video is also fun to watch. New images are always poping up, some of them
making you think that they are nonsense. Elements such as fire, water , the
wall, and color seem to have an important purpose throughout the video, they
are elements that keep on appearing to keep your attention up.
Also, at the beginning, the video starts
out with scrolling words that say:
" Idly minds are the Devil´s workshop", a sentence that definitely
leaves you thinking in the real meaning o the song.
3.-How may
different people understand this message differently?
I think people can give a lot
of meanings to this song. Some may say that the song is pretty
self-explanatory, that we tend to label everything, being slaves of what
society has ready for us.
Another may think that it is about how today´s society is full of conformists and how people are so
quick to judge others that are "different". Basically, it says,
"Don´t judge me, I know who I am. You can say whatever you want".
Criticizing society and its quick to judge attitudes.
And from a Fan´s point of view, it can
be taken as a situation with the music media business that is constantly judging and labeling their music. They have
an original sound that doesn't fit neatly into the rock, pop, or urban. All
those are just labels, we know that music is music.
It also has that love relationship
meaning that you can take from almost every song in the world. That maybe you
are in a difficult or complicated relationship with someone, those kids of
relationships that you can´t label. Call it what you want, but you can´t ignore
that exists. Doesn´t matter the name, it´s still there.
As a conclusion, we can say that, some
people like to operate inside the box, some people on the outside of the box.
Some people like that , and others don´t. But we all should respect each other.
Some people live talking about what others do, without living their own lives.
Idly minds that don´t have a define purpose, so the "Devil" can come
and use them as he pleases.
4.- What values,
lifestyles and points of view are represented in, or omitted from, this
message?
Respect, tolerance and acceptance.
It calls you to use your mind and time
in a proper way, without wasting it in trying to fix everyone else´s. It shows
us the danger of idleness, warning you to keep your
mind busy.
Be who you want to be, be yourself, not
the person that everyone wants to see. Don´t get the judgements get to you. Do
your own thing, and be free.
5.- Why is this
message being sent?
Because we live in a world without
identity, we put so many labels to things. In my opinion, they are trying to
uncover the reality about us. People are so into social lives, gossip, being
noticed, labeling, etc. that we forget
who we really are, who do we live for and what do we live for. We forget so
much about this, that we start criticizing those who try to live their lives in
a different way.
We need, from time to time, someone
reminding us that we should have an identity, and to stop trying to label
everything. Not everything needs to be caged into a category.
Dear Mr. President
Dear Mr. President
1)
Who created this message?
Dear Mr.
President was written by Pink (an American pop singer) and Billy Mann (a producer). It was recorded at 2005. This
song is from “I’m not dead” album.
2)
What creative techniques are
used to attract my attention?
To begin, the song's title
called my attention immediately. I think it suggest that this is a polite open
letter to the President George Bush.
The second aspect that
attracts me was the pictures. They display us the real situation of the United
States also they exhibit us the problems that haven't been solved. Some
pictures show: the effects of Hurricane Katrina, evacuation efforts, lost
children, homeless people, and homes destroyed by bombs also coffins of
American soldiers.
3)
How might different people
understand this message differently?
- I believe that this is a
controversial song. It‘s clearly a wakeup call to the President to tell him
that there are so many people out there, working hard and not getting anything
in return. She was asking him to do something about it.
- If you are from the United States and you
don't support President Bush's decisions, I think you might be agreeing with
the lyric. Because President Bush was proud of himself running the country
while people were starving to death, some of them were living in the poverty.
Also Bush said that he would provide equal opportunities for all children,
which was a lie, instead he makes it harder for certain communities and races.
There were hundreds of
soldiers dead in War that could not say goodbye to their families. He was
against gay people furthermore; he was against abortion (taking away women’s
rights to make their own choices about their own bodies).
- If you are from the
United States and you support
President Bush’s decisions. You might be completely disagreeing with the lyric
of the song.
-Poor and homeless people
from the United States might think the president don't care about them.
- People from others
countries might wonder: "How can a President ignore this kind of things
that are very important?"
4)
What values, lifestyles and
points of view are represented in, or omitted from, this message?
Some values present in
this song are respect to people that were living those difficult situations,
honesty because Pink wrote about what she wanted to ask and empathy because
what she wanted to get with this song was to raise awareness that there are people,
who is not happy and need help from all of us, not just the president's help.
About lifestyles. There is one thing President Bush has never had to cope with: poverty. He comes from a rich family. It's difficult for me to imagine that he has much sympathy for poor people.
Some points of view present in the song are Writer's point of view and people in the picture protesting against the president's statements.
5)
Why is this message being sent?
In my opinion Pink tried to expose
who everything in the U.S. was ignored by the President, but it shouldn’t be. Also
she wanted to ask some very important questions. I believe the really wanted
answers.
Monsters - Rush Smith
1) Who created this message?
RushSmith, a spanish youtube user that uploads video blogs and songs.
2) What creative techniques are used to attract my attention?
The make-up the people that appear in the video are wearing, contrasting with the black background. I believe what really caughts people attention is the weird make-up and then you read the title and get curious.
3)How might different people understand this message differently?
There doesn't seem to be a deep meaning to this song, but maybe there is one. So, some people might just enjoy the song not getting any message, but surely there will be others that will beyond that, caring about the lyrics and what they imply.
4) What values, lifestyles and points of view are represented in, or omitted from, this message?
It's kind of a twist to the believe children have, or the stories they were told, that there was a monster living under their beds. In this song said monster is pictured not as something completletly evil, even if it is still shown as a creature living under someone's bed, this time the monster is actually friends with the bed's owner and it's kind of sad about being left behind by said friend.
5)Why is this message being sent?
The author just wants to share what he loves doing: music, and for free so that anyone who likes his songs can just download them.

2.-What creative techniques are used to attract my attention?
Well, in regards to the music, it has a typical nostalgic touch of the British alternative rock, which makes a very engaging ambient. The guy with the jacket its another thing that makes it more interesting, as he is mumbling and shouting vague words, his mysterious look, and indifference about the cars , he still walking to his destiny.

3.-How might different people understand this message differently?
Maybe, when we see the final scene of the video (the guy, taking his jacket off, finally destroying the car ) some people can understand it as the victory of the man over the machine. All the incredible power of the machines is totally overcome by the simply but spectacular strength of the humankind. It doesn’t matter how scientific the invention may be, the most important creation in the world history is the human.

The main message this video sends is a vision of the humankind. We can see how the people in their cars pass watching him, swerving out of his way. Suddenly, some cars hit him, everybody is indifferent with him as the people in the street, someone tries to help them but just superficial.

5.-Why is this message being sent?
This message is being sent because people currently are very indifferent about the problems of others, no one cares about what is happening in the life of a person who could be in a worse situation. We must try to be more careful about what other people are feeling.
